A time for work and a time for play
I've always been a firm believer that hard work should be acknowledged. My students have WORKED SO VERY HARD in preparation for their state testing and I am confident that they did their best!

Portrait of his teacher...
While sitting in my rocking chair today, I had no idea that one of my talented young students was sketching his teacher! Taken by surprise, he called me to his desk to show me his work of art. When I looked at it, I couldn't help but laugh at the uncanny resemblance! Didn't he do a fantastic job drawing Mrs. Anthony? I love it!

TAKS Court!
Our students have been working hard all year to learn the strategies they need to be successful! As a reward (and a fun way to review our work!), we held a simulation of "TAKS Court" where students role played the members of a courtroom during the case. We rotated, taking turns as the bailiff, laywer, defendant, jury members, and courtroom spectators. Each role was partially scripted and the students did a WONDERFUL job playing their parts, ad-libbing when needed. They took court very seriously! The defendant was called to "prove" their innocence with the work they showed on the problem (or case). Several students were found to be innocent, while a few were guilty! I have included the following clips from some of the cases for you to enjoy!
